if by chance... you should make a list of priorities in your life, start with the people who will be crying at your funeral.
if by chance... you think your problems are the problem, then consider that maybe it is just your attitude about the problem.

if by chance... you get frustrated with your six year old daughter, remember you will dance with her someday at her wedding and she will break your heart
if by chance... your wife gives you the ultimatum, "choose me or the alcohol", wake up the next morning, gently kiss her on the forehead and tell her, "I Choose You"!!!
if by chance... the next time you are out, and you see a couple with an internationally adopted child, smile. do not pass judgment. be happy that they found each other to share their love. to often we take for granted all that we have in our lives. children are one of those things. we assume that it is "normal" for everyone at sometime in their life to settle down, buy a house with a white picket fence, have 2.5 kids, and one dog that pees in the floor while you are at your 9-5 job being verbally, and emotionally abused and humiliated by the corporate jacka**. did you know that you must ask permission from the chinese government to have children? the chinese government has a one child policy. families are economically penalized and harassed for having more than one child, unless of course, they are males. many chinese women leave tiny baby girls everyday in baskets on the doorsteps of the police departments, in market places, and in busy shopping areas. they watch in the shadows hoping to see someone find their child. many walk away heartbroken at what their society has forced them to give up. imagine that feeling everyday you wake up!
if by chance you see an internationally adopted child smile, know that someone loves them both from afar and in their new home.
if by chance you see an internationally adoptive parent smile, know that they have traveled across oceans to share their love with a child.
if by chance you love to read, then read The Lost Daughters of China by Karin Evans and The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan.
